James Rodriguez would prefer Real Madrid over Barcelona

Colombian winger James Rodriguez has expressed his desire to play in Spain, and favours a move to Real Madrid over Barcelona or Atletico Madrid.
After some sensational performances in the FIFA World Cup 2014, the interest in the young Colombian winger is strong, with clubs like Man Utd, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Napoli, Chelsea, Spurs etc. keeping close tabs and monitoring the situation.
Speaking to Spanish radio station, Cadena Cope, the 22-year-old was quoted by Goal saying, "I would love to play in Spain. It would be a dream to play there – it is the best league in the world."
When asked if he had a certain club in mind, he said, “I prefer Madrid to Barcelona."
Sky Sports’ Spanish correspondent Guillem Balague confirmed the story:

Rodriguez is certainly the talk of the town after he heroically led his team to a comprehensive  2-0 win over Uruguay, taking them to their very first quarterfinal in their FIFA World Cup history. His brace also took him to the top of the Golden Boot race, with a total of five goals to his name along with two assists.
He had recently moved to Ligue 1 side Monaco from Porto after the French club paid €45 million for him, and are less likely to off-load him unless Real Madrid comes up with an offer they won’t want to refuse.
So is Bale's record transfer fee going to get shattered soon, let us know your views below in the comments.

Movie Review: Transformers: Age of Extinction

Transformers: Age of Extinction is the fourth film of the Transformers franchise, a franchise that's known for being explosive and action- packed and kind of dumb. This film is no exception, it follows the other films like in the exact same regard. But I do think this is an improvement from Dark of the Moon and a BIG improvement from the horrid, Revenge of the Fallen. The film takes a bit more serious approach, but don't get me wrong it still has some stupid humor, just not as much as the previous films, which is pretty refreshing.

Transformers: Age of Extinction improves on its predecessors, mostly because it doesn't feature the charisma-free Shia LaBeouf as lead human. His shoes are filled by Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, a can-do “garage inventor” with a passing resemblance to Harrison Ford in The Mosquito Coast, a somewhat creepy obsession with the virtue of his leggy teenage daughter (Nicola Peltz), and a passion for discarded machinery that leads him to rescue Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen), noble leader of the Autobot race.

The action scenes in here are pretty outstanding and it actually has much more wide shots than the previous movies. You can actually see the large scale of these giant robots in breathtaking detail. The visual- effects are fantastic as they usually are with these films, it definitely delivers in that department. However as usual there are numerous problems with the script and story, it's senseless as usual, but not as annoying as "Revenge of the Fallen", the dialogue is weak, but at least it's not mindbogglingly stupid. Also the Autobots and even the Decepticons have more of a personality than they used to. Grimlock is a fantastic addition in this film, but I would have liked to have seen a bit more of him.

For those who didn't care for Michael Bay's past Transformers films, you probably won't like this because it has even more mindless extravaganza action packed scenes, just like the other films did. However audiences who are game to board the extravagance train will find that Age of Extinction hits all the notes that a Transformers movie ought to. So if you didn't like any of the other past Transformers movies, don't bother watching this cause you'll probably won't become fan after this. If you liked the other ones then you'll most likely be in for a fun ride like I was.

It's no accident that the film's two human villains are a ruthless CIA “black ops” chief (Kelsey Grammer) and a smarmy but more redeemable robotics entrepreneur (Stanley Tucci). While these characters attempt to exploit the Transformers, they're unable to control the forces they unleash; perhaps Bay is telling us that he, too, is a tool of the system, doomed to whip up endless sound and fury to sell some lousy toys.

Verdict: Right from the word go,Transformers: Age Of Extinction looks made-to measure for the fans of the popular Transformers franchise. All the movies in the series had its fair share of flaws and this one too is far from called perfect, but offers enough excitement & thrills to qualify as a decent recommendation. Not a must watch, but worth a try!!

Luis Suarez banned for four months from ALL football for bite on Giorgio Chiellini

In an unprecedented move Fifa has banned Uruguay’s Luis Suárez from all “football-related activities” for four months for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini, ruling him out of the rest of the World Cup and the start of the season for his club Liverpool.

The FIFA disciplinary committee , after more than 10 hours of talks over Wednesday night and this morning, banned him from nine competitive  Uruguay games and four months of all football activity.

The biting incident, the third in which Suárez has been involved in his career, has also led Fifa’s disciplinary committee to ban the player from even entering any football stadium during the ban.

However, Fifa clarified that Suarez’s ban from all “administrative” tasks related to football did not block any possible transfer from Liverpool during the period.
“Such behaviour cannot be tolerated on any football pitch, and in particular not at a Fifa World Cup when the eyes of millions of people are on the stars on the field,” said Claudio Sulser, the chair of the disciplinary committee, which met late into the night at the Sofitel Hotel on Copacabana.
“The disciplinary committee took into account all the factors of the case and the degree of Mr Suárez’s guilt in accordance with the relevant provisions of the code. The decision comes into force as soon it is communicated.”
The ban means that Suárez, who the Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers hailed as a reformed character last season as he won both footballer of the year prizes, will miss nine Premier League matches and three Champions League games.
Although Uruguay can appeal the decision, it will not stop Suárez being banned from Saturday’s match because under article 124 of the Fifa disciplinary code it does not have a “suspensive effect”.
Before Fifa announced their judgment, the Uruguayan FA and even the country’s president had weighed into the issue in support of Suárez.
They claimed that Suárez was the target of a conspiracy among the Italians, the English media and the Brazilian hosts to make more of the incident than it warranted.
“You shouldn’t forget that we’re rivals of many and we can be for the hosts in the future. This does not go against what might have happened, but there’s no doubt that Suárez is a stone in the shoe for many,” said Suárez’s lawyer Alejandro Balbi.
Here is the video of the Suarez biting incident.

Swimming is key to Happiness

Do you want to feel more content, less grumpy and get a good night’s sleep? Swimming could be the answer.

A recent study conducted by members of British Gas SwimBritain, a series of fun team swimming relays that take place across Britain every September, found that taking a regular dip at your local pool can make you feel happier as well as healthier, with participants reporting an increase of 35 percent in positivity during a four week study.

The results have also shown that the low impact sport is a tonic for everyday life, increasing levels of sleep quality, energy levels and fitness levels during the course of the study.

Just a few laps a week can have an almost immediate effect, with those donning their swimsuits seeing an increase of 20 in their overall levels of well-being after just one week.

“Swimming is obviously close to my heart and it’s my goal to help the nation rediscover their love of the water, so this research is really good news for the sport, and something I’ve always known anyway,” said Olympic Swimmer, Becky Adlington.

“The fact that it has significant benefits both in body and mind is a great reason to get back in the pool and that’s why I am a big fan of British Gas SwimBritain, a fun relay challenge taking place this summer, which is encouraging as many people as possible to give themselves a swimming goal and see the benefits for themselves,” added Adlington.

I wonder how happy the fishes are, swimming their entire life :P

Tip of the day: Coconut Milk can help you loose weight

Besides burning calories, the key to losing weight is to monitor what you eat. Either you alter them, replace them or reduce them. Coconut milk is one such food that you can replace your regular milk with in order to lose weight. Although it is not a miracle weight loss food but it definitely quickens the process. Since the healthy saturated fat in coconut comes from medium-chain triglycerides, a fatty acid your body prefers to burn for energy rather than store, it gives you a satiating effect and prevents hunger. So if you are planning to keep yourself energized and also lose weight, then coconut milk is what you need.

10 Animals on the verge of extinction

Would you believe that out of 50 billion animal and plant species that ever existed on earth, only 50 million survive today—that means one in a thousand, Here is a list of animals that might become extinct during our lifetime itself.
Slowly and gradually there have been number of animals that have already vanished while some of the other popular ones have come at the verge of extinction.
Animals are a beautiful creation of nature. It is sorry state when any news approaches regarding species of animals and birds vanishing slowly. When talking about the term, “endangered”, it makes you remind of the lovely plants and animals that are slowly dying out. Some reports also suggest that all the species that are present on earth are considered to be endangered because of the serious environmental threat that is growing at an alarming rate
Scientists and conservationists warn that the animals and plants that are currently disappearing rapidly from the natural ecosystem due to some or the other major reason and the rate of extinction is a major cause for concern. Scientifically, it has been said that if the rate of disappearing remains the same then chances are that more and more species will end up being extinct, as all animals and plants are somehow linked in an ecosystem.
People today are aware about various species that are getting extinct but it is very important to understand the reasons behind them getting disappeared.
1. Siberian Tigers

With the Chinese and Korean populations nearly extinct, Siberian Tigers are considered to be Critically Endangered. Less than 200 are left on earth. It has also been estimated that tigers have lessened to an extent of 7 percent on the earth. Tigers were once considered as most dangerous animals and have been chosen as national symbols for many countries.
2. Ivory Billed Woodpecker

The Ivory-billed Woodpecker is or was one of the largest woodpeckers in the world, at roughly 20 inches in length and 30 inches in wingspan. This top ranking endangered species (possibly extinct already), used to live in Southern part of US as well as Cuba. Due to habitat destruction, and to a lesser extent hunting, its numbers have dwindled to the point where it is uncertain whether any remain. There are various resources which state that the last time when ivory billed woodpecker was sighted was in year 2004.
3. Blue Poison Dart Frog

The blue poison dart frog is one of the most brilliantly colored animals on the planet. Humans harness the poison as a potential ingredient in painkillers and the indigenous Chocó peoples of Columbia dab it on blowgun darts for hunting. The tiny frogs inhabit South American rainforest, which is disappearing at a rate of four football fields per minute.
4. Greater Bamboo Lemur

The Greater Bamboo Lemur, which is about the size of a cat, had been thought to be extinct until a survey in 1986 found a few survivors along with a completely new species, the golden bamboo lemur, and resulted in the development of Madagascar's Ranomafana National Park. It is said that lemurs Madagascar was once the special hometown for a large number of lemurs but as on date, they are available only in fewer numbers.
5. Northern Right Whale

Nothern Right Whale, the most endangered of all the world’s whale species, numbers around 350 individuals that travel the Atlantic coasts of Canada and the US. During the whaling days of the 19th century, the right whale got its name because whalers considered it the “right” whale to kill, as it not only was full of valuable whale oil, but it floated after it was dead, which made it easy to handle and process. These whales are still living but there are various sources which say that they are continuously being hunted to the level of extinction.
They are protected under the U.S. Endangered Species Act of 1973 and the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972. Vessel strikes and entanglement in fixed fishing gear are the two greatest threats to their recovery.
6. Western Lowland Giorilla

Western lowland Gorillas or the Mountain Gorillas are among the most famous of all endangered animals. These majestic animals live in the tropical mountain forests in central Africa, but they are lately finding it very hard to survive, and a couple of years back they were brought at the brink of extinction. Forest loss is gradually destroying gorilla habitat and they are being hunted down to extinction. Large-scale farming and grazing is also shrinking forest areas that have been their natural habitat.  Zoos worldwide have a population of 550 western lowland gorillas and the Cincinnati Zoo leads the United States in western lowland gorilla births.
7. Polar Bear

The world’s largest terrestrial carnivore, Arctic polar bears are threatened by global warming. They must fast longer in the summer due to melting sea ice. In 2007, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service proposed to list the polar bear as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. As of May 14th 2008, the Polar Bear was listed on the ESA. The decision was crucial as 29.7 million acres of the Chukchi Sea, which supports polar bear populations, are set to be opened to oil and gas activities.
8. Leatherback Sea Turtle

Leatherback Turtle are the longest-living marine species to ever ply the world's oceans. They survived catastrophic asteroid impacts and outlived the dinosaurs. But this largest turtle in the world, is on the brink of extinction, and scientists question whether the animal will survive into the next decade. Over the last 22 years their numbers have declined in excess of 95 percent.
Large-scale hunting and poaching of sea turtle eggs has pushed this beautiful species to the verge of extinction.
9. Kakapo Parrot

Native of New Zealand, the ancient, flightless Kakapo is the world's rarest and strangest parrot. It does not fly and is a nocturnal bird, which makes it relatively easy to poaching by humans and other animals. There were only 62 left, when they were shifted to safe habitat, where their population is now growing slowly.
10. Chinese Giant Salamander

The Chinese Giant Salamander is the largest salamander in the world, reaching a length of 180 cm (6 ft), although it rarely – if ever – reaches that size today. Endemic to rocky mountain streams and lakes in China, it is considered critically endangered due to habitat loss, pollution, and over-collecting, as it is considered a delicacy and used in traditional Chinese medicine.

Amazing Creatures: Atlas Moth

I know some might find it scary, some might find it pesky and you would all like to torch or whack these insects to death.

But an Atlas Moth would eat them for breakfast, if it had a mouth. A native of Southeast Asia, the Atlas Moth rivals any butterfly with its beauty and grandeur, and it’s time to show this insect the respect it deserves.

The Atlas moth is a large saturniid moth found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, and is common across the Malay archipelago.

It’s the largest moth in the world in terms of wing surface area. The wingspan of a female atlas moth can reach up to 12 inches with a surface area of 62 square inches. Go ahead and hold up a ruler … that’s one big bug.
The word “atlas” in its name has many meanings, referring to its “mapped” patterns, “titanic” size, and the snake-tipped edges of its wings. Many see the word “Atlas” as a reference to the bold and distinct lines that form the map-like pattern found on its wings, the different colors representing different geological formations.

In taiwan, the cocoons of atlas moths are used as purses. The cocoons are very durable and spun from broken strands of brown silk known as fagara, which local communities non-commercially collect and turn into useable products, including purses. Some vacated cocoons don’t need to be deconstructed—they can be used “as found” as small pocket-change purses by simply installing a zipper!

They have no mouths. You don’t have to worry about the atlas moth munching on the clothes in your closet. Despite their large size, they have no mouths and don’t eat once emerging from their cocoons, relying on fat storage from their immature stages of life.

Once they emerge from their cocoons, atlas moths have a very short lifespan. After spending about a month in their cocoons, atlas moths emerge as the beautiful creatures we’ve been describing above. Unfortunately, this state is short lived as the adult moths typically die within a week or two of spreading their wings.

Why you should not drink coke or any other aerated drinks

Well you will come across a number of reasons for not drinking coke, if you just type on Google. All of us are well aware of its side effects and its health related issues, but we just cant get enough of these cold drinks and sodas. So why is it so addictive and why cant we just supplement it with plain and healthy juices.

I came across this video on youtube, would just like to share another example of how harmful these aerated drinks are to us and what exactly goes into our stomach. Check it out:

Amazing Creature: Baby Polar bear

Have you see anything cuter than this ever!

The polar bear is a carnivorous bear whose native range lies largely within the Arctic Circle, encompassing the Arctic Ocean, its surrounding seas and surrounding land masses. The polar bear is classified as a vulnerable species, with eight of the nineteen polar bear sub-populations in decline. For decades, large scale hunting raised international concern for the future of the species but populations rebounded after controls and quotas began to take effect.

Kolkata Knight Riders win IPL 7

After being put in to bat first, Kings XI Punjab made an impressive 199 after a superb knock from Wridhiman Saha. A breath taking hundred from the young Indian, scoring 115 of just 55 balls not out. The perfect script was ready for Punjab to bag their first IPL title.

But we were in for another fine innings from Kolkata's young Indian batsman Manish Pandey scoring 94 of 50 balls. It was a super exciting finals, and very very entertaining. But the strangest part is we saw the Indians shine in the finals to make it a one to remember. All the International stars for once had a supporting role to play.

But with all this celebrations we got to feel for Punjab, the lads deserved a win in their first IPL final ever. And certainly well played to both the teams.

Guys lets wait next year again for another cracker of a tournament.
