Sooraj Pancholi on girlfriend Jiah Khan: Two years after her death, the Hero star finally speaks up

 Sooraj Pancholi, who hit the headlines two years ago when he was arrested for his involvement in girlfriend Jiah Khan's death case, says he still misses her a lot and has no qualms if his name is associated with her. Sooraj's life had turned upside down when his name cropped up. He was arrested on abetment to suicide charges and sent to jail.

"My name will always be associated with her and I have no guilt for that. I am happy that something at least stays with me. I am sad that she ended her life. But at least her name is with me and I have no problems with it," Sooraj told PTI.

Jiah, the 25-year-old British-American actor, was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her Juhu home in 2013. Sooraj met Jiah through Facebook and then after sometime the two fell in love. "I miss her. I miss her everyday of my life. I am missing her while I am sitting with you right now. If I loved a person so much I would miss her," said the 25-year-old Hero star.

"She was five years elder to me. She was more mature than me. I was 21-year-old then and she was 26. She knew more about the industry than me," said the actor. Sooraj faced further mental trauma when Jiah's mother Rabia Khan alleged that he was responsible for her daughter's death.

"I don't know if she (Rabia) is against me. If she feels that there is some foul play in this case, then she has all the right to verify it," Sooraj, son of actors Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, said.

"But if she is doing it just to harass me then I would not want to say anything. Truth will definitely come out. If she is doing it for some specific purpose then God is watching," he added.

Sooraj will soon be making his debut as an actor in the remake of the 1983 film Hero, which is co-produced By Salman Khan and Subhash Ghai. The Nikhil Advani-directed film, in which Sooraj is paired opposite Athiya Shetty, is releasing on September 11 this year.

“My challenge is always, year-to-year, trying to be the best—training hard to get myself 100% all the time,” Ronaldo said following the 2015 Nike Tech Fleece Jacket launch on Thursday.

“My main goal is to always achieve this kind of success. This is what I am trying to do all of the time, and the last eight, nine, ten years I think have gone pretty well. So I try to keep going like that,” he added.

The 30-year-old has won the Ballon d’Or thrice and has achieved the highest honours in club football but his life away from the game is far less extravagant than one might expect.

“(I’m) a normal person. I try to do normal stuff, surrounded by my family, my friends, my son. Just trying to be as normal as possible. I'm just training in the morning, so when I arrive home I get to do other things that make me feel comfortable,” the Champions League winner revealed.

It comes as no surprise then that Ronaldo picked spending time with his son when asked about his passions away from the pitch.

“I have many, but I will just mention one, which is playing with my kid,” he beamed.

Waking up every day and pushing yourself to the limits in order to be the best in the world is no mean feat but Ronaldo is fueled by the people around him.

“The people who I work with, the people around me—they are always giving me motivation and the opportunity to work hard and be good. They give me good vibes, good energy, and I think that that is the most important thing for me,” he enthused.

The Portuguese skipper also opened up about his deepest fear, revealing that he wants to live a long and healthy life.

“Dying young (is my greatest fear). I don't want to die young. I want to be old and die when I’m 80 or 90,” the former Manchester United winger said.

As for what goes through his mind when he’s standing in the tunnel before a game, Ronaldo says his mindset is one that’s pretty composed and simple.

“Nothing special (that I think about). I try to enjoy it. Playing football is what I like to do. So I just enjoy it, the sport, and I want to allow the fans and the public to enjoy it, too,” he concluded.

Then he revealed a joke Salman cracked, "One day, Salman cracked a joke. He said, "Guys, we three won't do a film together. We will only end up fighting. One will keep using his brains, another will finish the work quickly, and someone will not reach the sets on time." So, we discuss stuff like this." 

Shahrukh further discussed this topic in detail, "Today, if I were to write [a script] for Varun (Dhawan), Ranveer (Singh) and Ranbir (Kapoor), it would be hard. Not only because they should have equal roles, but because it must do justice to them all. It's a difficult proposition to write a three-hero film, and then get three heroines, and three villains (smiles). If it happens, it's great and even if it doesn't, that's also good. 

The three of us don't exist because we should be in cinema together. Instead, we exist because we should be in cinema." Well, we hope like what SRK expects, some brilliant scriptwriter manages to write a good film with three leading heroes, so that we can see the Khans' acting together.
